You're Doing Pink Wrong! Download Now!

Everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Don’t fall into the trap of doing pink wrong. We see it during NFL football games, pink ribbons worn by survivors and supporters, 5K races in every major city. It’s incredible the support and love shown during this month-long awareness campaign.

Even our dogs are wearing pink!

But, don’t forget about your phone or your computer, pink needs to be brought on screen.

You’re Doing Pink Wrong!

All kidding aside, enjoy a free download for your desktop or phone below. October is an important month in my family because my mom is a breast cancer survivor. Although she is no longer here on earth, she survived 20 years after her diagnosis. Most of us know someone who has been touched by breast cancer.

I’d love to hear about the loved one you reflect on during this month of pink in the comments below. My mom is heavy in my thoughts this month.

Thanks for this Maureen. What a poignant time for you. They say they pain never goes away, but we learn to live with it… I hope you are able to focus on the happy memories and find strength in that; and there’s no doubt that you are very grateful for those 20 years. My most cherished friend is a 16yr survivor, tho she has had four battles. I am constantly inspired by her and thank you for this small reminder of how lucky we are to know such amazingly resilient women. Thanks xo

Thank you for your kind words Annette. I hope your friend is doing well, that’s so tragic to hear that she’s fought through four battles in such a short lifetime. I will keep her in my thought and prayers! Thanks!

Such a thoughtful post and wonderful remembrance of your mom. I have three close friends who’ve had breast cancer: two are survivors and one is in a major battle right now.

Thank you for the beautiful download. Although not to breast cancer, I lost my Mother-in-law to cancer almost six years ago.

First of all, beautiful calendar! I agree that “pink” is being done wrong. So many people are buying into a fad and not actually helping the cause. Businesses and organizations are taking advantage of people thinking that they are donating profits when they aren’t (or they are giving very little). My great-grandmother died about 10 years ago from breast cancer even after a double mastectomy. Personally, I would like to see less hype and more donations going towards new research, new treatments, and to help women who have breast cancer. Finding better ways to detect it would be nice too!

I love these downloads! My mother, too, is a breast cancer survivor. She is almost 25 years post diagnosis and I am grateful every day that she made it through unlike so many others. Still much work to do in finding a cure. To the power of pink!

I read a bit of pink history recently and was really surprised. Apparently pink used to be a boys clour (reminiscent of adult military coats) and blue a girls colour – due to its association with high art (Lapis Lazuli) and the Virgin Mary. It is only in the last 150 years, I think, that pink has been taken over by us ladies.

I neve knew, but pink has become a powerful colour.

Thanks for the reminder & these beautiful downloads! My wonderful sister is a 20+ year BC survivor. I never prayed so hard in my life than those 2 years. I am more than grateful to still have my sister in my life. I love her so much. I’m glad you had your Mom for another 20 years, that is a gift!

Great downloads! Whilst our family hasn’t been personally impacted I have friends and colleagues who’ve had breast cancer…sadly, not all of them survived.
